Holding targets are set in the ski holding area. The best way to determine the holding area is to test on a sheet of paper. If the skis are only used for classic skiing, the grip area of the ski base could be roughened with sandpaper. This way the grip stays better under the ski base and is more resistant to wear. START synthetic grips are suitable for use on both new and old snow. These lubricants are used by amateurs and competitors alike. Smooth with synthetic cork. Repeat the application procedure 2-3 times, levelling each layer. The layers may be smeared with retention fertilisers at different temperatures. A harder (colder-weather) grip layer is usually placed underneath to increase wear resistance and improve the bond between the different layers. The upper grip corresponds to the weather.
